Have been trying to put in an aftermarket tacho for a while now and can not get it to work. Found the signal wire ( brown one ) near the strut and it wont work. Put a multi meter on it and it is showing a signal.. Even went to the coil pack to get the signal wire (white one ) and still no go.

Help

hmm bit odd... you could always try the tacho wire behind the instrument cluster as well...

haha i know the answer to this i did it a while a go to mine ...
You have a coil pack! most aftermarket tacho's run from a distrubutor which is a complately different type of signal!
I found that brown wire and that white one and tried them to haha.
I made my self a digital one if you wanna buy it from me because I instead bought a new dash (my manual vp didnt come with a tacho, sucks).
Long story short it wont work !
