As Demonica stated.

Noooooo Bingo!

Housings and mounting points are different.

Yes it will. My alternator catalogue says same from VN-VS series 2. The VS series 3 changed as it used the VT engine.

I don't think they will. Ecotec alternators are different to the Buick 3800 V6 alternators.

Yes, some catalogues show them as been the same but I don't think that is correct. I have both here at home (VN and VS series 2) and they are definitely different.

I thought it was the V6 alternators are for VN/P/R and then different one for the VS/T/X while the V8 ones were for the VN/P/R/S?

I found another online catalogue that listed them as being the same too, but I also found one that was different. I change my vote to different.

Maybe you were looking at the V8 models as mentioned above. VS series 3 is the last of the V8 Holden engines with the roller engines.

Definitely V6.

And VT 5.0L is the last of the rollers ;)

Yep, but VS series 3 refers to the VS utes with the Holden roller engines and statos as well I think, i'd say that is where the confusion is as in the V6 model you only and series 1 and 2
