hi, i have searched and searched the internet for an answer, i have big brakes for my vq statesman 345mm and i need a minimum of 18 inch rims ,but all the forums i have read say that they will scrub in the rear cause of the offset been so different, as its also pretty low. and not many rim choices with the offset,i read about vr-vs trailing arms ,but no forum has said much about it in detail ,is it the upper and lower trailing arms or just the lower arms you replace or can i get a camber kit or change the or can i put vr/vs Rear Stub Axle Hub ,but cant find these anywere ,or is there a link any one can post . thanks

Vr/vs set up is your answer.

I researched it awhile ago for mine and ended up getting vxs2 ass end for the extra adjustment, so I'll need to change cradle aswell.

It's actually really simple. Buy some 18x8s with an offset between 40P and 35P and they'll fit perfect. For a even better fit again buy 45P fronts and 35P rears. The VP Senator came with 17x8 30Ps however these are maxed out on the front and almost poke. The VP/VQ diff (wheel track) is about 30mm narrower then the VR/VS diff so doing that swap will grantee all of Holdens wheels will fit (18x8 48P)

so if you need more clearance wouldnt vr vs make it wider?

    this is what i read

"deep dish a VR/VS Simply use VP/VQ axel & rotors.
widen stance of a VP/VQ simply use VR/VS axels and rotors"

that's what the OP wants to do. The VP/VQ is about 30mm narrower so wheels like VT Calais Inters, VY sigs anything 8" wide rubs on the inner guards. There's only two ways to fix wheel fitment depending on wheel choice. VR/VS conversion or staggered offset wheels eg a 45P front and 35P or even 30P rear.

    I have 1990 series 1 VQ Statesman 5.0.

I always wanted a set of statesman international rims for my car and eventually I found a mint set.

When I went to fit them they rubbed on the back on the inside, but that's okay as this post clears up how to fix that but my question is how do I fix the front?

The problem is firstly the tyre itself seems to want to hit the spring but the guy at the tyre shop said its because they are a really tall tyre that was on it.

Secondly if they did mount flush it seems the hub wants to push out the center cap.

I have VT front rotor conversion, not sure if that's an issue.

So, if i fix the back, how do i fix the front?

    Thanks.

You should have a 235/45X17 tyre, which is the correct fitament and will clear. It's the same diametre as the original fitament tyre from the car (ie 205/65X15)......so I suspect you might have a different sized tyre on the rims

The cap issue....The Vt brake conversion isn't the issue....i believe most bash the wheel bearing dust cap inwards to prevent it from pushing the wheel centre cap out...

    Silly question but...

Quote "widen stance of a VP/VQ simply use VR/VS axel's and rotors "

When I put "VR/VS axles" into Ebay I don't get anything that looks like this, what are the exact name for the parts in relation to IRS?

I want to be very accurate with what I am naming so when i ring places looking for some we are talking about the same thing.

Lets say I take out my current ones and place in the longer ones, do the brake calipers and stuff still line up correctly?

Are the only parts I will need the axel's and then everything else that's currently on the car will work with the new length?

How hard is it to swap them?

Also noticed from memory a sort of hub centric ring indentation on the inside of the international rims that does not seem to be there on my current ones.

I assume I will need the correct ring for that also rather than just bolting the wheels on?

    And thanks for the info.

Pictured is axles, hub, brakes, trail arms all needed from a VR/VS to make it easy there's like 10 bolts each side
