304 vq v8 tacho jumping when cranking/no start

hey guys just finihsed installing new dizzy,cap,rotor,leads,coil and igntion module.

i have spark but no start, also while cranking the tacho jumps around aswell..

i have lengthed the coil wires to mount it to firewall would it be possible that the wires are the wrong way around?

any ideas?

ok just been out with the test light, both sides of the coil has power with ingition on.

both pins in injector plug has power when ignition is on.

only thing i can think of now is that the late model vp dizzy and vn dizzy wiring is differnt. ( the new dizzy i got was to suit later model v8s so had a differnt connector plug so re wired it to suit the vn wiring harness red wire + black wire- and green wire 0.

anyone able to help?

problem fixed tacho was jumping due to battery dieing..

im too slow. was gonna say the tacho may jump around if the coil is not getting a decent earth.

yeh i had thought that aswell, but it only really happend when the motor was cranking slowly and then the battery would die..
