Sounds like you have a short in your circuit somewhere. As these don't have a fuse, if there is a short it will short out the Sensor first.

As FstStig says, you could have a wiring problem. Check your wiring between the throttle body and the engine wiring harness and also check the quality of the connector. Make sure that your throttle cable is not too tight. If you push the cable there needs to be 10-15mm of slack.

I suggest taking it to an auto electrician and having them put a multimeter on it and check for a short in the circuit somewhere. By the sounds of it you are only looking at the TPS end, the circuit doesn't stop just there, it also runs back to the ECU, But before it does, I think it may run the IACV as well... But don't quote me on that one.

Have you tried clearing the codes out of the ECU? Disconnect the negative off the battery for about 10 - 15mins.

You may need to try changing your ECU, note that you need to transfer the PROM (sometimes called a Memcal or Chip) from your existing ECU into the new ECU.

you could test the altenator by checking if its charging your battery. i would have thought (but im no expert)that an altenator problem would have a slower effect as the battery fails to charge

ok up date up date i forgot to tell u me speedo stoped working i dont know what speed im doin changed dash cluster to a working one same problem also noticed on the ecu has a bit of green corion on the wires above the white plug maybe just maybe if i clean that it will work again?also while back when did mounts the lights stayed on we disconected battery and still stayed on so left it with battrey pluged off then in morning pluged the battery back on and lights were off? so m guessing hopefully the corrision around the ecu is causing all thius over time?
