I'll add the ECU from my car has the 2 blue plugs and the one Im looking at has the 2 Blue plugs, also has the same service number at the top.

YAZAKI BCMs' used on VS and VR Series Models are not interchangeable due to differences in terminal assignments and vehicle wiring. The BCMs changed from VR to VS. That may cause you problems using a VR ECU in a VS.

Yes VR pcm can be used. Just need to use the correct memcal.
Isn't the memcal actually within the ECU?

The guy at the wreckers I got the ECU from recon it should work plug in and play.

Most other people iv spoken with say it should work, others have said may not.

Iv also read the VS has a knock sensor and the VR didn't so not sure if something like that would cause issues.

I didn't even know what a memcal was until yesterday lol

The memcal simply pulls off, undo the cover and remove. Just make sure the power is disconnected if you swap it after its fitted to the vehicle.

The memcal is plugged into the ecu. Think of as the ecu as a motherboard, and memcal is the CPU you plug in.

The Memcal (memory calibration) contains the actual tune the car runs off and is model specific where as the computer can be used across multiple different models.

Knock sensor was only used on hsv models as far as I am aware.
