VR 5L thermostat 195degF ??

    Is the standard thermostat in a Holden 5L a 195degF thermostat?

    According to my Max Ellery's the thermostat is fully open at 100 deg c

    foamy told me to use a 175F so I'm switching back to stocko hoping that'll do the trick.


    edit: no, he said 195F. No idea where I pulled 175 from lol :p

    well whatever you said I have one from Repco here now... only it came with two huge gaskets and a giant O-ring... ?? WTF?? Do I need to stop buying things from Repco??

    OK. We'll see tomorrow I guess :) what about the O-ring? my VN one didn't have an O-ring I don't think, and we never used the O-ring in the VT V6... should I be using it? I guess I'll try tomorrow anyway..
