The climate control on my VR Calais wont turn off the fans when you turn the system off, even if you turn the ignition off. I have pulled out every fuse or relay i could find but nothing stops it, unless i disconnect the battery. But as soon as the battery is connected again, the fan springs back into life. Any advice would be very appreciated. Thanks.

your fan speed resistor is knackered... mates got the same problem... temporary fix is to take out the pink fuse on the left in the small fuse box above the battery...

Fan amplifier is the problem (Climate control doesnt use the fan speed resistor). About $210 from holden i think, not the cheapest. Could try a wreaker but you are taking a gamble.

the fan amplifier will not cause this!!
check the fuses with a test light, you have a blown fuse, i cant remember which one at the moment but i think its something strange like park lights or acc.
the amp will make the fan NOT work on some or all speeds.

Are you sure Rob? Because when my fan amplifier blew, it would only work on the 2 highest speeds, and it did keep going when I turned the ignition off. The only way to stop it was to remove the BLOWER fusible link under the hood. I replaced the fan amp with a brand new unit, and its been fine ever since, and have never had to touch any of the fuses.
