Hi, I just put a new motor in my VR commodore and its having troubles idling, infact it stallls if i dont hold the RPM at about 1000, first start it was idling fine but now it wont and nothing has been changed. i feel as though its an air sensor or something of the likes but i cant find any visable problems. The engine light is on but i havnt had a chance to check what it is yet. Also, i dont have a manual for my VR yet and was wondering if someone could tell me what the cylindar numbers are i pput the cables on like so.... (back of engine) 6..... 5 4..... 3 2..... 1 (Front of engine) if it was wrong im sure the car wouldnt run at all. Anyway, what sensors are likely to make a car stall if its under 1000 RPM? Thanks in advance
in the throttle body underneath, its the bigger one, the small snall looking one is the tps throttle pos sensor, your after the bigger cylender one try http://forums.justcommodores.com.au...988-1993/23292-vp-commodore-idle-prolems.html post 9
This motor has been sitting in a car for about 12 months before i put it in and the entire top end looks a bit aged, rusted bits and stuff like that so im guessing ive got a bad contact or something similar. First ill check engine codes then ill look at the wiring harness. My indicators are intermittant aswell, sometimes they work sometimes they dont, so it could be an electrical isue aswell.
fixed my problems, knock sensor wasnt plugged in and vacuum hose on the map sensor was off, runs sweet nowm blows a bit of black smoke but i think thats just the o2 sensor
