Is there an easy way to disconnect each door harness when I remove all four doors on a wagon? Rather not chop them if there is an easy way to keep the harness in working order.

Hi Losh,

Yes the doors unplug inside the pillar. I'm sure if I recall correctly you gain access via the hole at the lower end of the B pillar after you remove the inertia reel seat belt assembly and clear plastic water protector.

Perfect, I want to use the front belts in the ute as my drivers one was slightly frayed before I cleaned it up with a pair of scissors, so they will be coming off anyway.

I seem to remember the plugs inside won't go thru the holes so had to remove the wiring from inside the door and pull it thru inside the car.

Hi Wot,

Sorry that doesn't make sense on the production line as they wouldn't be threading doors with them hanging on cars. As far as I recall the doors were fully assembled prior to hanging them on the vehicle and as such the loom will already be installed in the door body.

Also I have both my rear doors from the 45,000Km sedan I wrecked still unopened with their hardware all intact including door trims still fitted.

What about the fronts, do they have a plug inside the kick panel area?

I will have a look tonight if I remember.
The fronts have more than 1 plug as I do remember the door speakers have their own plug.

Yes the fronts go inside the A pillar and upwards. If you remove the side panel on the dash that's visible when you open the door you'll see the two plugs that need to be separated.

Just checked, 2 plugs inside and they do fit thru the hole in the body.
The plugs will not fit thru the hole in the door. I do remember swapping door wiring and having to feed the wires from the inside of the vehicle, thru the rubber tube and into the door.
