Hey guys
blown up motor in my stock standard VP. Unknown person borrowed it from the backyard and went joyriding.
Scored a VR motor to go in. Never changed a motor before but done quite a bit of other stuff so tempted to have a go. How difficult? Have been advised to remove blown engine with transmission and put trans onto replacement motor out of the car. Also suggested that I replace rear main oil seal in replacement engine. Wreckers have cut quite a few hoses and some wiring in removal of VR motor. Is that a problem? Apart from that only power steer pump and coil pack removed.
Should I replace welsh plugs also?
Am I going to a better managed motor or do I need to change engine management to get that?
thanks
