Any tips on how to mount a jvc head unit into a VR auto?

i have removed the old standard eurovox tape/radio! the brackets from that do not line up with the new cd player.
anyone done this before and can guide me, any help will be greatly appreciated.
is there a mounting kit perhaps that i can buy?
i have the wiring sorted using a aeropro adapter into the existing loom.
i wired it up colour for colour the head unit wires are the same as adaptor wires so i just joined them together. havent tested it yet thou?

had the same problem with a few installs in my time...theres nothing a power drill cant fix.

either drill new holes in the old eurovox brackets OR carefully drill new holes in the sides of the new head unit.

i prefer the drill being used on the brackets. just safer. make sure you measure and mark the holes correctly. its easy. did my daughters cd player amp and sub in 2 hours.

I taped the old brackets to the side of my new headunit with gaffer tape. Pretty awful, but its never moved on me.

I had that problem with my JVC. I just made up some new brackets but there is a annoying space between each side and top that I should fix some time with thicker metal.

You may get away with drilling new holes in the cradle yes.

i had the same problem, went to bunnings bought some metal stripping and made some brackets to screw onto the cradle, it fits fairly snugly but the ends of the screws rub on the head unit as you pull it out. its not a problem just makes it more secure lol.

    you misunderstood my question!
is it neccessary to use the cradle that comes with the new cd/player?
or just the old brackets with new holes drilled in them to line up with the new unit?

Yes use the eurovox bracket and drill new holes if possible.
If it doesn't sit flush then measure the remains and make a bracket to suit.
