vr no power after engine change

    hi all,i swapped my vr commodore engine and while I was doing it I didn't realise the positive wire to the starter motor was not attached I hooked the battery up and i did not realise the wire was earthing under the car,,i hooked the starter wire up and hooked the battery up and I have no power at all,,no lights indicators ignition etc,,is there a fuse that could have blown ?

    You can check your 60a main. Failing that try all the fuses under the bonnet.

    Is the battery OK?

    hi all,i checked the 60a fuse and it does look kaput,,need to get hold of one from auto shop,,will do this over the weekend nd let you guys know how it goes thanks all

    hi all again,,checked battery fuses n leads all goo,,do I need to change the bcm,,as I said there is no power at all

    Have you checked every fuse, both under the dash and under the bonnet?

    all fusses are good double checked them all,,,battery fully charged,,i don't understand why I would have no headlights,indicators etc could the vat be the reason ? or bcm ?

    VATS and the BCM won't stop power or accessories, they will only stop the car from starting.

    i got that sorted it was a fuse,,i now have the lights ignition working but it not cranking now,,ive left the key in ignition for half hour see if this makes a difference,

    Might be key sensor ring or NSS, or even ignition switch. Try jumping the solenoid on the starter to make sure there is not something going on there.

    thanks all,,it seems to be th ignition,,i left the ignition on for half hour and it cranked over,,just recharging battery n checking everything I hope to start it this afternoon will let you know how I'm going
