Hi All,

A friend's elderly mum is looking to off load her Sept 94 VR Satesman and is looking for an indication on value.

They claim it is a Caprice but the buid plate and rims seem to indicate Satesman rather than Caprice.

One owner Genesis Blue 5 litre with 135,xxx kms.

Claimed good condition with only a couple of minor scratches.

I haven't seen the car in the flesh (it's some 4 hours away) but here is a pic.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Pics no work.

Is that better ?

They have also confirmed it is definitely a Caprice with leather and everything works, not Statesman.

It's got statesman wheels rather than the factory caprice ones which really affects the value as Caprice enthusiasts love those wheels.

Being reasonably unmolested the right buyer would probably pay $4500-5k in the WA/SA market if the milage isn't stupidly high and the interior is in good nick.

Those caprice seats are worth $1000 alone if not split or cracked.

You might find it fetches even more than the above quoted figure. Unmolested V8's are commanding big money now as most Statesman / Caprice examples have been trashed a long time ago.

Sadly there aren't many mature age folks out there that would appreciate it and keep it original, while all the kids with cash will rip it to bits and install subwoofers and all their doof doof gear into it with it then ending up at UPI within 12 months.

This is why they are just skyrocketing in value, now if it was a 6 cylinder then it'd be worth around $2500 tops.

The VIN # will tell you if it is in fact a Stato or Caprice, the owners manual has the details....
