1 plugs into 3 - this is the light for the cig. Where the arrow is for 1, that should be attached to the cig barrel.

2 plug is the power for the cig.

4 & 5 I believe are the plugs for the cig lighter in the arm rest or console lif for the rear passengers.

    I agree,

    1. plugs into 3. and is the light for the sigi lighter.

    2. is the power source for the sig lighter.

I think 4. is possibly the plug for the Power/Eco button and 5. might be the light in the Power/Eco button.

    Thanks, another forum member helped me out, for the record;

    1. Is the light for the cigarette lighter, it fits into the side of the lighter housing.
    2. Is the power plug for the cigarette lighter
    3. Plugs into the plug on no.1 (power for the cigarette light)
    4. & 5. Are for statesman etc that have a cigarette lighter in the rear of the console lid (not sure if senator use these)

Apologies for all the posts, should have made a reality TV show ha ha. Got the console out, and modified to mount the three Auto Meter gauges Santa brought me. I actually took a long time to decide on what ones to ask him for. I cut and pasted images of all the different types to see how they would look. Initially I though black would look best, but I just kept coming back to the simple clean purposeful look of these. I ended up going for a staggered plate, just orientates them a little nicer to the driver. Had to make up a horizontal plate above them and painted it satin black so it looks nice and neat. Put my trade wiring and soldering skills to use, the looms are out of the back of the console labelled so the auto elect can finish them. Also got the sender unit for the oil pressure mounted in the filter mount.

Ha, great minds think alike, although I just went with a flat semi-polished alloy plate in my old VN.

What can I say - this pic makes the most perfect build I've seen in years distraught :(. (It has nothing to do with the gauges either)

Yeah, I can understand where you are coming from. One thought would be to leave it standard. It's always one thing I hated about the 2nd gen commodore dash, it didn't show any critical info like oil pressure and voltage like the earlier models had.

On the other hand, he's invested a lot of coin under the bonnet and you would want to be able to keep an eye on the critical T's and P's.

I think black faces would of suited much better then in your face white given the quality of the build and the fact nothing else is white but eh each to their own.

I went with this, but with the polished alloy backing plate it's not subtle either.

Yea I think it's just one of those personal preference things. I like full sweep gauges, also like is often the case photos look a little different. To each their own I guess. I like them, that's the main thing.

I agree white is bright, but keeping an eye on your vitals is far more important so would rather the are there than not at all.
also, you should get a new brake pedal rubber. Yours is showing some age.

Who cares what colour the gauges are or how they are installed, or the little things that at the moment really don't matter because If this car goes like myn and it will, when u put ur foot down ur not going to be able to look at the gauges anyway and ur not gona care what colour they are when u carnt look at them

I totally understand about ur focus thing and don't loose it for some watch a macall em things in the dash that u glance at while idling around

Its ur build who cares if u stick fluffy pink dice with purple poker dots on the dash because that's ur choice and you are the one that lives with it,

Don't build a car that every one else wants, build ur own

I say this because when I was in some of my toughest times and so close to firing up people where saying to change my tail lights and I couldn't of cared if it had the down lights from my kitchen there for tail lights at that time

Ur car ur choice, the install is neat and the wiring is very neat and they look good, only thing is I wreckin one of them should be NOS gauge :)

I think if OP listened to people's opinions on everything the build probably wouldn't of even happened.

When I was drilling out the underside of each runner for the vacuum, I was seriously thinking how easy it would be to add nos nozzles one day.....

You will get bored of the current power level quickly.....so you may as well tap in some threads for the nozzles now.....
