Wow. Totally awesome.
Thanks all, the feed backs really appreciated. I have been a bit flat out the last couple of week ends, we are moving offices, then in 4 weeks we head overseas, so unfortuanelty may not get a whole lot done for a while.
As many others have said this is the Mother of all VS's!!
But just as importantly, is this being built in your garage? I have dreamed for soooo long about having a 2 post hoist in my garage.
Gosh everything is just so mint in your Photos!!
Thanks, yep, doing everything at home in my shed on my own. Its pretty well decked out though, I have my own lathe, welder, grinders etc. I have a two post hoist, its called a Jaxmax. Its awesome. 4 posters are great for storing cars, but 2 posters are good for working on them coz they lift on the chassis so the wheels are free. My shed is only an 8' or 2.4m on the sides, so I couldn't get a full height lift. the JaxMax lifts it to about 1.3m, and the posts are held to the slab with bolts, and are on wheels so you can simply unscrew them when you are not using them.
This is my man cave, 30 years in the making!!
Just regret not building a taller one, probably should have gone 2.7, but at the time it seemed like the right choice.
I hope that shed has good stereo and fridge hidden in there somewhere !!! And possibly a bar and seats for them brain storming times lol the must have of building cars
Fridge - check, stereo -check
2 out of 3 not bad ill let u off the bar because u have a hoist lol
Well, to say I am pleased is an understatement, picked up the wheels today, just could not be happier, peaking in fact. This is them fitted, afterwards thought I would post a series of pics of the manufacturing process. No tyres yet, but they look like exactly as I imagined them what seems like months ago. You have to see them in real life to see the effect.
Quote from the misses "but from the side they look the same, its not until you notice how wide they are you realise what you have done" yep, got it in one!!
Thats amazing stuff, it's great to see someone with a such a passion for detail they would go as far as getting their wheels completely remade to keep the look they want for the car.
Keep up the good work
Wow that's all I can say
Hey VR, how are the inners attached to the outer barrels? Surely not just a press fit???
amazing, props for going the whole hog to get the wheels you want in the size you want.
do you know how the center is joined to the barrel?
Wow...... excuse me while i go change my underwear
