Bit of an update. Went around this morning to the electricians before it went off to the tuner and discovered stupid me had plumbed the power steering hoses wrong way round. Luckily was an easy fix to swap them at the pump end. There was always going to be some issues.

I didn't know that the tuner had gone around to the electricians last night and tweaked the tune so I was able to start it and it idled and ran sweet as. So we ran it, checked and topped up all the fluids, it had an excellent brake pedal with the booster working, also was able to run it back and forth in forward and reverse and the gearbox engaged nicely. Given I completely rebuilt it myself thats a tick in the right box. Same nice young lad picked it up with his flat bed that delivered it to the electricians, I started it up for him, about a half hour later he posted on my other build thread "It's hard to put in words how this sounds in person it's bloody unreal" I have to agree, to me it sounds bloody epic. Maybe not quite so loud as i thought yesterday, I may be OK.

Anyhow its been with the tuner all day, I have been trying to play it Mr Cool (rather poorly) and not bother him. Just got a text from him saying "got a fair way today. Should have some news tomorrow. Sounds good tho" Given theres a fair bit of work for him to do, all the throttle bodies have to be synchronized for example, great hes moving forward on it.

So I think thats great news really, hopefully tomorrow i will find some time to go around and check it out. Just means another sleepless night :)

Bloody good to see the various shops working together. It's a lot easier when everybody is working on the same page.

Agree, it's something I like about Willall. Seems they have a small network of people they work with, totally agree makes it so much easier.

Lol the way it's sounding you're going to get wood every time you drive it :p

Just remember we need a loooonnnggg vid when it's going so we have plenty of time to drool over it and for our eyes to turn green with envy lol.

Well, just been for my first gentley drive up and back outside the tuners. The brakes still have all the paint on the discs etc so it all needs to be bedded in, plus the wheel alignment etc isn't sorted. Gave it a couple of half squirts though, its bloody insane. I think I have won over some cred with the tuner, he made a point of telling me there were no leaks from anything at all. Its off to the wheel aligner on a flat bed tomorrow, then I am driving it home. The tuner wants me to drive it a bit, get it loosened up, then once I have just tidied up a couple of small things take it back to him for a full dyno pull, so sorry you guys are going to have to wait a little more. Here's a couple of vids I took though, still on a crappy iPhone though. When I walk down the back of the car you can hear how nice it sounds I think.

Did he bed the rings in on the dyno? Might be a bit tough to do on the road as you really need to get a bit of load on the engine.....

BTW, you definitely know when the fuel pumps are working :D

Yea mate, its "run in" as per the Chev performance info that came with the engine, its just that everything including the auto has been fully rebuilt so he just wants me to sort of bed the whole car in before we cut sick on the dyno. Yea pumps are loud, but you don't notice them in the car over the engine noise :)

Silly question, Why are you risking dusting such an awesome bit of gear ? The trumpets look **** hot but all that unfiltered air cant be good.
