Hi all,
I have a factory stock VR SS. Sometimes I have problems starting and it seems to me that the 2 second fuel pump
prime is too short. I assume that the 2 seconds is stored in the ECU memory.

Would it be possible to change that to a longer time - for instance 5 seconds ?
Thanks.

It shouldn't be a problem at all. Check for fuel leaks at the back of the car near the connections for the fuel pump, and that the fpr is in good condition. I had a similar problem and it ended up that it was bleeding down from a slight leak from the hose on the fuel filter.

Otherwise, check your wiring for the starter and make sure the starter and battery are in top shape. They don't like to start when everything doesn't quite get adequate current, or if it isn't being turned over fast enough.

Thanks EYY. It would still be nice to be able to increase the prime time if thats possible.
Anyone have any ideas on that ?

Yea, sometimes its a long crank and then when I have oil pressure it will start. Probably need to check fuel pressure for leakdown. Its a new pump , oil pressure switch, FP relay and FP reg. Thats why I thought increasing the prime time would be good.
With a dash full of gauges t/shooting would be much easier !
Will check system for fuel leaks - though can't normally smell any fuel leaks.
