VR statesman standard speakers

Ive just helped purchase for my son a vr statesman. He loves the shape of the car, but naturally wants a better sound system. Hes looking at kenwood headset, amp and speakers. Plans on spending approx. $700.0 Can anyone help to inform me of the standard size speakers in the statesman. Thanking you.

6 inch speakers all round.
6.5's will be fine if you dont mind some persuasion with a hack saw on the plastic door pods!
and bigger than 6 inch and you will need new fiberglass kick panels put in.

I was told my Vr ststo has 8 speaker, ive found 6 so far and wondering where the othrr two are ?

2 in the dash (tweeters), 2 in the front doors, 2 in the roof, 2 in the parcel shelf (i thinkkkkk)
