Just wondering if any one has experienced this problem. ML60 auto has no 1st gear or 4th gear at all. Selecting D will take off in 3rd, if you select 2nd position it takes off in 2nd then will shift to 3rd fine but has no overdrive I removed pan & checked a couple of solenoids & it all looks pretty good, no burnt oil or excess wear found. I am thinking its electrical ?
I found a blown fuse which was for transmission but it didnt improve operation & it hasnt blown since.
    Any help is appreciated

Sounds like to me that it's your shifting solenoids

There's 2 shift solenoids in the box it self, u mite as well do a service on the box while ur replacing the solenoids because their under the oil filter, I think from memory it's roughly 100 for solenoids and a service kit
With oil but that's doing it your self

Mine was doing this. It was a 7HDD box. The error codes it gave me were: 59, 66, 67, 73, 83.
Installed a 6HDD and TC (different to the one that was in there) and the problem was solved.
The engine was not what caused the transmission to do that due to it was a new engine we just put in.

$100 for every solenoid? Id love to know where you would get that from as the pressure control solenoid is not cheap.. The cheapest iv need the complete solenoid package and wiring harness is $250.
Service kit is fun to do, removing and installing that filter holder piece. Easier with the box out and rolled over.
