Got an issue in my VN.. just put a VR V6 in it, fresh rebuild.. it idles fine, lovely even, but stutters under load. Seems to be dropping 1cyl under the slightest load.

All the ignition gear was used on the previous engine, same coil and DFI, same leads and plugs even..

I have tried 2 sets of plugs, an NGK 13 and an NGK 15, but no change.

Motor is stock apart from bolt ons.

Any ideas welcome, want this thing driving asap.

could be fuel pulse from not having that dampner.or it could be from running the vn tune.

OK have checked the TB and all connections there are present and secure

I removed the DFI/coil packs and scraped back the mounting surface for better earthing, also tidied up the earth strap to the DFI.

No change.

are you sure the key was on the crankshaft snout before fitting the ballancer?

check fuel pressure, what do the plugs look like after it splutters?

checked fault codes?

if the key wasnt on then the bottom timing sprocked would be spinning

Not sure how to check codes on VN.. someone tell me and I will do it. 90% sure there won't be any codes though, no engine light.

greenfoam tune from the VN, a safe enough tune for 91RON on a VN engine.. surely the extra 0.5 compression point wouldn't ruin it.. jason said it should run ok. He's mailed me a VR manual tune on a VN memcal anyway, just waiting on arrival

Will pull plugs after new ones go in, hard to tell with 2nd handies
