Hi guys. Vr V6 running oil light... Could it be oil switch fault ? Or would it be blocked oil pick up in sump. How hard is it to drop the sump while the engine is still in the car Whats the easyest way Cheers Travis.
Would be best to change the switch first that way you dont stuff around with sump etc and its only the switch.. When i had to replace 2 sump gaskets i pulled the engine out instead of leaving it in.. but its personal choice some people prefer just leave the motor in
Thanks mate i will try that. I put some diesel in the engine i am going the do a oil change hopefully that might clean it out.
Woah wtf did you put diesel in your engine or diesel oil lol???? or did you mix diesel fuel with engine oil?
Find a way to support the motor and drop the K-Frame. Even if you hire a Engine stand for half a day. Change the switch first as there is normally other symptoms when the pick up is blocked.
The car is un regoed. Dad asked his mate he said put 2 litres of diesel in the engine and let it idle for abit than drain teh oil and it might relese some sludge. The cars done 170ks so there pretty low. Yeah with one off tge v8s we braced the engine on the struts and lifted it. We will give them things a try. Thanks guys for the help cheers travis.
check your switch first mate they get some water in it or leak a bit of oil (common problem) and die. i've done sump gasket with the motor in the car and it is a f***n bitch gotta pull throttle body off so motor can come up enough to get under there and even then there is barely enough room to fit a spanner, and then re aligning engine mounts etc would have been quicker to pull the motor out,
Thanks guys so its not easy if it wasent a tidy ute it would be crushed.. I might give dads mate to get under there for $150 he just loves working on them he wouldeven just do it for beer.
