VR V6 tranny compatibility,

Hi guys im looking to find out if a vn v6 transmission would fit into a '93 vr v6.
I've just bought the vn transmission, just want to confirm they fit before i put this one in.

No.
vn/vp = hydraulic
VR onwards = electronic.

Although not completely impossible to put it in and make it work.... It's going to involve a lot of ####ing around, installing the hardware for the tv cable, wiring modifications to get the speedo and other functionality working correctly and reprogramming the pcm.
Without at least the tv cable it'll be another dead trans, be lucky to make it to the end of the street.

What exactly is the problem with the current trans?
