Hey guys, im just wondering what kind of performance upgrades can be made to the vr v6 engines while im still on my p's in NSW. only got another year til im off so i figured i would start doing a couple of things now. just wondering what can be done (easy or hard, cheap or expensive) doesnt really matter just looking for a couple of things to keep me busy for a while.. Also was wondering. i know its a stupid question but was wondering if you can put a front mount intercooler on a non turbo and turbo it later and is there any point. as i have no idea about intercoolers. please let me know. Much appreciated.

    Cheers, Mick.

Save your coin untill you get off your P's then go nuts, or just buy a V8 :) There's not much you can really do engine performance wise while your on your P's. :/

Yes there is a point to doing this, it is usually called "wank factor". Seriously though, no N/A car is going to need an intercooler.

    Hey Dude,
There's a few little mods that you could do without notice that'd increase your power output. Might cost a little, but not the earth. Firstly, i'd go for a high ratio roller rockers. This will act simmilar to installing a larger cam without so much hassle. Might cost several hundred dollars, but may be worth it. Could also get a custom chip and tune. Might cost even more and might get a few extra Kw. Also there's some CAI systems that i'm almost certain wouldn't get you into trouble if you got pulled up by transport police. SS induction maybe? I'd be looking for in-obvious mods if I were in your position. Things that the fuzz aren't generally going to check, like the stuff listed above.

    Cheers!

Forgot to add about your FMIC idea. IMO, it doesn't really make any sense. I can see where you may be coming from as an intake for a CAI system, but it'd only slow things down "such as airflow and efficiency" more than anything.

    cheers!

Hey mate i have a VS V6 and there are a few upgrades you can do

Extractors - Lukey or Pacemakers, not much difference in the brands they all do the same thing
CIA - Cold air intake which bolts in front of the engine
And maybe new Exhaust system? make it slightly louder probably a Cat Back 2 1/2 exhaust, your choice of trip, i got single muffler to exhaust
Hi flow cat if u want i guess, i havnt got one but i got the above 3 and it made the difference i love it now

Theyre some good mods to get ur V6 going, and all up for that probably cost ya $1500 without the hi flow cat maybe $1300 at the most

Or if u got the coin, **** it why not chuck a Raptor supercharger on like Stage 1.5 or something, thatll set you back bout 4-5k so yeah just throwin it out, check out my showroom and you can see why i had done hope the advice helps

Jeez, jump the gun there a bit why don't you. I answered the question you asked. Can't take a joke, eh? There's a reason I put the word "seriously" in that post.
