Hi Guys

I'm after new upper outer door belt mouldings for all doors for a VR SS Sedan.

I know these may be hard to come by, even a very good set of second handies.

Thanks
Dean

Hi Trevor

I'm after the plastic hard mouldings not the rubber.

Thanks

Man stop and think before hitting that keyboard with all that googling shite.

The part this member is looking for it the upper door window reveal mouldings of which there are 4 of and there are no reproductions available, thus it's going to be NOS or secondhand only available.

What really annoys so many of us is that most of the time you just have to put crap up to be heard and 9 times out of 10 it's always the wrong information just like it is this time and has been clearly demonstrated.

On So many occasions it's a new member that cops this bum steer and then they think to themselves that this site is full of knobs that know bugger all and then never come back.................... and I totally get that.

Hi Dean,
I am in the same boat needing VR door belts. I have been searching for years with no results.
Its the rubbers that are part of the door belt that are the problem.
The rubber turns rock solid hard and prevents raising the windows and also scratch the glass.
Even if you can find some at the wreckers they have degraded rubbers as well.
I have been thinking of cutting off the rubber section and replacing with bailey channel cut along the length.
The Torana bailey channel from clark
rubber is a close match. They have flocked felt sections that can rub against the glass.
Should be able to glue in place with contact cement or thick superglue as in the previous discussion.

upper door window reveal mouldings
Shows how much you know too, would you use hard plastic against your glass.. Last I looked the reveals are soft rubber, his wanting the door moulds to protect from other car doors denting his panels..

Trevor, the rubber part attached to the door belts that rubs on the windows was and should be soft rubber as on any brand of car.
The surface that runs on the glass is flocked felt.
A bailey channel runner has flocked felt on the inside of the U .

Have you ever looked at bailey channel ?

Also I doubt that the door belts would protect the doors from dents as they are up too high !
