Ok guys, when i manage to source an ignition coil for my VS Senator i'll obviosuly need to replace it.

How the hell is it done? Never done it before...... Obviously it's a 304 being a Senator :thumbsup:

Its easiest to remove the engine covers, remove the distributor cap, then you will have enough room to fit your hand and a spanner down there, its as simple as removing the bracket the coil attaches to then a coil lead and power/earth leads many many people will tell you that you can reach it without removing anything, but these people must have the girlish arms in the world as i could never manage it.

Sweet thanks dude ^^^, as i am getting a cylinder shaped coil, i'll have to mount the bracket it comes with somewhere.

It sits right behind the back of the inlet manifold. I had a decent look yesterday, it's going to be a bitch of a job to undo everything and mount this new cylinder coil i have.

If it's a cylinder shaped coil you have the incorrect one, unless you are installing a non-Bosch equivalent.

I was told that it would work but not perform as good as the square black one........

I was under the impression it would still provide spark and get her started, it just won't perform as good as the black square Bosch coil.
