Wiper blades look good hey, and the cog swap isn't too hard. Let me know if you get stuck but you'll probs be right. There's a fairly good how to on here with pics. Just gotta be real gentle and stuff. Also, only tighten the two screws that hold the top of the cluster to the dash the tiniest little bit, mine were threaded already for some reason :( Also, if you have a set of plastic trim removal tools they are great for this as you won't damage or mark the dash at all and it's easier to pull it all apart with them.

Thanks mate. Pretty happy with how they came up. Had my 7 yr old son "supervising". Even let him have a go at spraying some clear on. He had been hassling me the whole time to paint something so I thought why not...good to see him keen on this stuff. I reckon half of what he sprayed would have missed the arms though.

And Yeah, found the How-To with the help of James39.

Had the facsia off / cluster half out a few weeks ago to replace the speedo "stealth" bulb. A few of the clips were already broken lol. I didn't have time then to super glue the tabs back on. Will look to fix those this time too.

I see from your sig that you have made a decision on the front lip !

Haha sounds like good father son time :)

And yup, I have, just haven't found one yet. Doesn't matter what colour, the plan is to paint it gloss black ;) Will be something different I guess lol

Yeah, I know what you mean but, strangely, I am kind of attached to the orange ones. Maybe one day.

I still want to paint the bailey channels and door handles the same as the wiper arms as they are all looking pretty tired too.

your wiper arms look great, ill have to do mine soon. clear indicators look good on a dark car, but on white, i think i prefer the orange or tinted ones. and the oval ones, dont know why but the square ones look dated IMO

Yeah it'll disappear a bit I guess. Still, I'm keen to try it since its something diffrent. Hey how does it attach to the bumper anyway?

I'll be interested to see how it looks once you get it sorted.

When you do get one it should have two holes on each side which you screw through to the "bottom rear" of the bumper as below. As my bumper didn't have any holes here I had a mate hold the lip in line with the inside curve of the bumper and used the lip's holes as a guide to drill the bumper. It would have been a bit too tricky for me to hold it in the right place and drill the holes.

The lip also has some screw mounting points on the inside. Apparently there are matching points on the inside of the bumper as well which you can drill and screw through. I didn't do this though as the mounting points on the lip were buggered so I hit it with our good friend Sikaflex. It's still there after 17 months so should be OK. When I first put the "rear" screws in without the Sikaflex it tensioned up pretty good as well. Sikaflex for insurance !

ps excuse the filthiness...wash day tomorrow lol.

Replaced the odo cog yesterday. Spun it manually for a couple of kms. Tested it this arvo in the car and it stopped after about 600 metres.

Pulled it out again, reseated it and gave it about 15 kms of manual turning, put it back together and shazam...all good.

    Thanks to this excellent How-To - http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/holden-commodore-how-tos/12428-broken-odometer.html

For anyone interested, I got the part from here - Speedo Odometer Cog Sun Gear SET Holden Commodore VS | eBay

I also took the opportunity to glue three broken fascia tabs back on. A dab of Tarzan's grip, let dry overnight and they are all working again.

Thanks mate...I do what I can to keep the old girl looking OK...mind you there are a fair few imperfections on it though.

Go for it...glad someone finds it helpful.

Painted the exterior door handles and bailey channels today. Used the same ingredients as the wiper arms.

Door handle with initial masking. This has not been sanded yet and is representative of the condition of all four handles.

    Full masking...same both sides.

Pretty happy with how they came out. Certainly better than what they were.
