VS 5L Starting problem

I don't know enough about the light. I pulled mine out when I replaced some trims and it never went in.

This might be the only way around it unless my key isn't reading properly?
It's a new genuine key so the issue is car side if so...

Should the red light stop flashing when the key is inserted? Or is it normal to have to press unlock again? My old VR never seemed to do it but I also never saw the security light on...

Edit: after reading your comment again, my VR may have had the same thing done
I have to do it on my VR. Thought it was just the way it is.

It may be then, my last car was different that's all. At least now it's consistent, telling me it could be working like it should.

I think from memory my VR claim I had back in you'd have to press the unlock button. If you've been sitting for a while, possibly maybe. Because it had central locking you didn't notice the having to click it
