    Hi all,
I have recently picked up a 98 VS Statesman III and am getting through the usual repairs although I have yet to pick up a repair manual. One reason being this model and being supercharged seems to slip through the cracks without buying most books on VS, VT and still has unique features.

Anyway, the point was, I want to change a few dash globes and whats the best way to do it. I know there are end cover vents for the doors that unscrew and the bottom of the dash panel is held in place by clips, anything else? I didn't want to go making it come apart without a heads up!

Also, the original Eurovox 10 stacker, are these a sealed unit if even removeable from the dash? Mine also has a globe or two in it that are gone.

Finally, also have no glovebox light, how do u get that panel out to change the globe?

And one more thing...the power/economy button, does it have a globe in it? Will find out when I pull the console insert up I guess!

    thanks,
    Ben

the stacker should be in the boot, thats where they were put as far as i know, mine calais had it there, mates vs statesman had it the and the vt's had them there. It should only be the tape deck thats in the dash.

if you just want to get the cluster out of the car.( the thing with the tachno and speedo)
there are two screws on the top half of the plastic surround and then the whole pannel should just clip out. it may take a bit of convincing but then you unplug your headlight switch, security light, demister and hazzard switch then you can see the cluster. you have to remove a screw from either side of it. and there will be a plug underneath it which you need to ave the fuse pannel open to get your hand up there. the next part is to pull your steering wheel down and then slide the cluster out and try not to break any of the globes that are in the bottom..

once you have done it once it will be really easy

ps. you dont have to take the dash endcaps off to get the cluster out.

there is no light next to it when you press the buttom you will get a signal on the cluster saying pwr and if its off you wont see anything..

i think to replace the glovebox light.. you need to get a screwdriver and just pop out the lens around the light.

Thanks Guys, will hopefully have a look this weekend. And yeah, was referring to the tape deck in the dash that has some lights not working, not much good for selecting discs or songs at night!
    cheers,
    Ben
