Hey, I've been having a problem with my air con vacuum, where I was unable to change where the air came out. It was always coming out at my feet. I have fixed the problem, but I don't know if I did it correctly.

I knew the problem was related to the vacuum pressure, so I inspected the pipes coming from the intake manifold, where I noticed one of the pipes was just hanging and not connected to anything. I connected the pipe to a screw to seal the plug, where now the air con vacuum is working as intended. I just don't know if this is correct, because I don't see anywhere else it could plug into.

The pipe comes from the intake manifold and heads around to this hole here, which is at the front passenger side of the car by the windscreen water

Then drops down under the car to here, where I found it just floating like this

So I just need to know if plugging that pipe onto one of those screws is going to cause any problems.

    Cheers,
    Dave

After further investigation it seems I'm missing my vacuum reservoir. Now I have been driving around 6 months without it, so do I really need it?

Also If I block the pipe so that the vacuum switch works is this going to cause any damage?

Even though it works the way you have it now, I would replace the vacuum tank so it can work as intended. It should only cost a few bucks at the wreckers.
