Whatever, the airflow meter if just dirty changes the ecu actions, also shows when the filter is blocked or ya have no air input etc etc, might be said that it's put there for a reason so leave it alone.

there is definitly gains to be had in removing the AFM otherwise why are all the LS1 crowd doing it. using a MAP sensor you can get a much more precise tune, however the AFM is much easier to tune and hence the reason car manufacturers use this setup. unfortunatly no where near as much time has been spent on the ecotec engines/ECU's in regards to tuning so programs like "LS1 edit" aren't avail to us to use etc. some people have used the VN/VP/VR ECU's to run ecotec engines as they utilise a MAP sensor instead of MAF sensor but this is more by the motor racing crowd or those people who have fitted the ecotec engine to the earlier model Commodores etc. keep trying though, you might find some information that hasn't yet been posted on this site, i'm sure many others would be interested if it was possible with the original ECU:thumbsup:
