Hey guys,

my L67 had developed a minor misfire at idle this morning...
I was running NGK TR6 plugs with the stock gap (1.5 I think) and figured it might be a bit too large; so I bought BPR7EFS-15 and gapped them to 1.3.. Now the engine massively misfires under load...

I'm thinking one of my coil packs are probably dead (re-used what came with the motor when I bought it)... Any thoughts?

Cheers.

Yeah I might put the TR6's back in with 1.5mm gap after work and see how it goes

The TR7's were too cold by the looks of things...

I pulled the gap back on the TR6's to 1.0mm. Runs like a dream :D
I think the TR6's were gapped to about 0.85 out of the box which compromised idle quality...

Why are you using those plugs? The NGK plugs recommended for your car are BPR6EFS-15 (standard) and BPR6EFIX-15 (Iridium). Did you get them for free?

7's are no good. Too cold. 1 heat range makes a big difference. It will miss like a bitch.

Put the stock plugs in. Plugs are plugs.

Also im fairly sure the S/C V6 runs 1.3mm gap. BPR6EFS-13

Iblown is right. The workshop manual says super 6 uses NGK BPR6EFS-13 . Standard ecotec uses NGK BPR6EFS-15. The 13 and the 15 on the end of the plug prefix shows the factory gap setting. Super 6 uses a 1.3mm plug gap.
