Welcome to Just Commodores, a site specifically designed for all people who share the same passion as yourself.
apparently not. Ive chatted with a bloke that reckons he can re-write any key (i call BS) to match the BCMNo I don't, but remembering that you will require the mating key head with the replacement BCM.
BCM's on their own are totally worthless, basically nothing more than E-waste.
(i call BS)
That's not very polite ??
Yes I understand that this can be done but in general as a straight swap over the key goes with the BCM so as to avoid many issues of chip reading etc. (E-Proms) which is a rather specialised service and just adds heaps to the cost. Why do you think most wreckers hang on to keys and put them with removed BCM ?
Yes Holden keys are infact re-writeable, but this is a very specialised job and if you had to pay for it then you'd just not bother with it and get a new key, get it programmed by a locksmith as per normal.
