I have a Vs V8/manual Ute and I want to convert it to a bench seat so i can pick my 2 kids up after work.

I think I know exactly what i need to do except the compliance side of it for Victoria. Can I do it and do i have to get compliance?

    Cheers

Check VicRoads website - it will be listed in the modifications section. You'd imagine that as the bench was available when new that it would be a simple swap....having said that, there may be a prob with the handbrake location???

not only handbreak but shifter to. is it auto or manual? floor or column shift? because that could present a problem

    As above, check with VicRoads.

You may also find it cheaper to sell the one you have and buy a factory bench seat version.

    to clarify some info.

Handbrake is in a different location. (right of driver)
Bench seat was from factory (mine says 3 seater on the car ID Plate)
you can have a floor manual with the Bench. (mine does) i dont think it is in a different location, but dont hold me to that one.

i also believe the centre console part has to be changed aswell.
as where the heater controls etc are different to normal (i have a 3 seater =P)
and some other parts are a bit different aswell.

but as said. may be cheaper/easier to buy one with the 3 seats. and if you really want put the V8 into it.
would be a much easier swap =P
