Nice!!! Got a full writeup of the conversion coming? Im doing mine next weekend
The manual conversion? its pretty straight forward, do the pedal box the day before, and if using an ecotec flywheel then ensure its match balanced to the L67 flex plate, as they run different counter weights, only drama i ran into was the bottom gearbox brackets and dust shield. VN Items would not fit, so I modified the VN dust shield, and found the Vt auto gearbox brackets fit the T5 nicely, just needed to open up all the holes in brackets and gearbox to allow more play. I drove around for almost a year on auto PCM/L67 tune, but ideally you need either a manual PCM and custom tune, or find/modify auto PCM with the correct components to read a Hall effect VSS (I think the RFI and L67 Auto PCM had these components, so you may be lucky here!) and change a few wires, along with a few changes to the auto memcal and it will play nicely
Looking good mate! Cant wait to see more updates! Go the manual L67's! You should come for a cruise with the jc nsw guys sometime, all my mates are being sheep and getting v8's!
Keep up the good work!
Thanks Dan, did get some inspiration seeing yours go around the track!
Im a bit guilty of going v8, as my daily is a VU SS, but will be selling soon to make way for the wagon again
Havent been on a cruise in ages, but looking forward to start going again and track days!
