The doors sag and also a chunk out of the insulation strip on the pinch weld are 2 causes.

sorry to hijack but anyone know where the noise at 80ks + from the front passenger area come from. Ive had the glove box and dash apart sounds proofing and tighten all bolts, bit of the door seal came apart so i reglued it. Things driving me insane.

to the original poster it sounds like it is your doors lifting up and down over bumps

I think possibly the same issue, you dont hear the door sag clunk until you go over a bump, which makes the door jump.

it might be similar to my drivers door...

have a look at all your other doors, in particular, look at the strikers (mounted on the car) and when you close the doors, does the striker end up in the middle of the gap in the door catch?

you SHOULD see the striker NOT touch either the top or bottom, if its touching the top of the catch, then your door has sagged, which means, when you go over a bump, the striker pushes the door up, and when it bounces back down and hits it.... CLUNK....

you have to either replace the hinge pins or lift the door...

    to check the pins:
open the door slightly, and grab the door, try to lift it and see if it "clicks" at the hinge pins.... if so, then your pins are worn and need replacing.

if not the pins, lift the door:
again, open the door only slightly, enough to fit a wooden block under the main part of the door, (NOT the skin edge) then use a trolley jack and VERY GENTLY jack it up a little and release, checking every time to see if its right....

DO NOT get over excited....!!! a little bit at a time! too far = stuffed door!

hope that gives you some insight...

    Well i fixed it
All it was was the striker/ latch out of adjustment
loosened the striker and tapped it in a little and hey presto
    The Knock has gone
    Gee i am good
