My VS Calais Passenger side Airbag cover has popped up in places. Whats the best way to get it to sit down flush If you glue it down it will never pop open on impact So is the answer to get a new one fitted Or stuff it and glue it down :bang:
I'd just bite the bullet and get it replaced and then use a sun shade when you park the car out in the sun during summer. I wouldn't risk just gluing it back down again, as if it doesn't deploy in the event of an accident, your passenger could be killed or badly injured... something that I wouldn't want on my mind. It's a VERY common problem, and I'm pretty sure Holden stock plenty of the covers for replacement purposes. You won't get change out of a few hundred bucks to get it done though, but better to be safe than sorry.
I wouldn't glue it down...if you glue it down, it may not deploy properly, also your insurance company may not pay out if they discover that you've modified it in a way that makes it unsafe.
You glue it down ON the airbag cover door. NOT the surrounding bits. The door open with the cover when it explodes.
The door part that is part of the outside of the dash is warped I asked Holden today and they want $3500 to fix it Thats all the car is worth Any ideas where i can get a sensible priced replacement
A wrecker? For the record, I can't remember, but isn't the door plastic, the same plastic as the dash?
