Hey guys,

Can anyone tell me how many Rear wheel KW's the supercharged VS calais have - (standard)?

Also how much (approx) would one with extractors, exhaust, 70mm throttle body, cold air intake and 10psi pulley upgrade have?

Many, Many thanks...

hard to say really mate, a stock one would have a ball park figure of about 150-160 rwhp (which is about 115-120rwkw). as for the modded one id just be guessing but going off figures from FIT's test mules a L67 with 10psi pulley and 1:9:1 rockers makes about 190hp.

At the flywheel...

VS have 165 KW
VT have 171 KW due to a larger airbox & filter
XU6 had 180 KW due to extractors and exhaust

Allow approx 20% power loss through the driveline to the wheels and you roughly have RWKW...or another estimate is to say FWKW = RWHP and convert back to Kilowatts again... 1 horsepower = 0.745699872 kilowatts

You should get approx 200-220 HP at the rear wheels with Rockers, and 10 PSI boost upgrade which = 165 RWKW maybe and extra 10 with extractors and exhaust.

you have to take into account that the engine is NOT going to be putting out the power quoted from the factory after this many yrs. its so difficult to just give out a figure on a car as you dont know how its been maintained and whether there are any internal problems (minor problems obviously, like worn seals etc., a major one would be very apparent).

Quite right there sircruisealotVS !... it all depends how it was run in and maintained and how many clicks it has now... if thats all good then you may make more power than the factory quoted as the motor loosens up and spins freer !

Don't waist your money on a 70mm throttle as it doesn't make any difference to stock or non intercooled high boosted super6's.
Also they completely change how your auto shifts and requires a dyno tune just to drive normally.
The standard throttle only starts to become a restriction once you get above 210-220 rwkw (which is usually about 19psi intercooled and above)
Basic and cost effective boost upgrade is 10psi, 81deg thermostat, extractors (the biggest you can fit) and minimum 2 1/2" exhaust or bigger and this will get you into the 170-180rwkw depending on the condition of your motor.

About time someone mentioned the implication of changing throttle body on auto shift. Well said.
