    Hi all,
I push my mode button to get the air to come out of the top vents no go.
I slap the side of the console and it works.
Is it the climate control unit or is there something behind it like a vaccum tap???
    How do I fix it??

Mine does the same and I use the same bang method to get it back.
It is as vsl67 said the vacuum block porblem and the remedy is to replace it.
I have bought my new one but as yet haven't had time to fit it.
Holden part#92140248 solenoid vacuum about $100+.

    Cheers SW

I fitted the solenoid about 2 weeks ago and the AC has worked perfectly since, no more closing of the vents and have to bash the console to make it start working again.

Just spent 4 x 30+degC days on the road travelling between Sudney and the mid north coast and the AC performed faultlessly.
Will post up a pic I found of the location of the solenoid when I get home from work.

The solenoid pack is located under the front of the heater box - basicly below the radio almost at the floor lever of the tranny hump

AirCon on a VS Statesman (not the VAC PAC)

Guys, I am hoping a legend in here can help me.
I have the problem where vents are pointed permanently to the floor.
in current 35+ degree heat this is killing me and my kid.

Holden have tested all cabin gear (AC Unit, VacPac, connections) and all is good.
They say the vac hose in the engine bay may not be connected which is possible because I had LPG fitted by a shonk dealer during winter and have found many things NQR.

Can anyone tell me (preferably with pics) where in the firewall AirCon vac hose comes out, and where on block/head/solenoid etc the bastard hose fits to?

I am confident this is my problem because I saw several hoses left clamped off while the guy was installing the LPG.

pwetty pwetty pweese be someone in here that knows this and can share it.

I have the holden original VS SuperCharger supplement manual and it is as useless as tits on a bull to me for this.

This is the best I could do I hope it helps I didn`t pull this car apart but I think it will give you an idea.
    pics in order
    1. line comes into engine bay passenger side.
    2. runs along firewall.
    3. goes into cabin near heaterbox inlet/outlet pipes.
    4. tee piece must be the line ??????
    5. and they go on here.
    Good luck.
