Sorry to hear man, Can i ask when the mechanic did the exchange with the other module, where you there to witness that he actually did swap it over and check? I have heard of a few dodgy places that say things just to get a headache out the door if you know what i mean:whistling: Personally if it where me i would go to my local wreckers and ask them if you can try swapping the module over to see if there's any change, and obviously if that fixes your problem then, that's that ect! If not then imo an auto elec is your next best bet:thumbsup:

Hi yeah old thread i know but im having the same issues in my calais. due to the fan only working on feet/ demister is it safe to assume the vacuum solenoid has cooked it? Is that the black rectangular device with the yellow filter in it?

Further the CC unit switches on/ off randomly, i was told this was a sensor, ive got the console all out just not sure what im looking for i guess it would be a small compenent . If somebody could help me, cheers.

Check all the vacuum lines are located correctly and not leaking. Also the vac lines under the bonnet too!!

hi mate, yeah i will check that out, ive read that can be one problem.
BUT im still tying to figure out why the unit wont physically turn on a majority of the time to start with... ive checked relevant fuses and the orange wires on the lower loom are getting power, and the illumination works behind the buttons with the lights/parkers on, but still no LCD display therefore nothing at all...?!? Im thinking a crap sensor or relay?

cheers
