You really need to get the car on a hoist or at least on ramps and get underneath and check every universal joint and the centre bearing which has a constant velocity joint. The hissing sound could be coming from a failed centre bearing rubber support allowing the tailshaft to rub against the side of the centre bearing....could also be the upper control arms on the back axle or a dozen other item but the only way to pinpoint the culprit(s) is to inspect. Just be prepared when you get it checked by a suspension shop that they probably will report "everything" that has wear in it - that means every flexible joint from the transmission back...rubbers, insulators, unis, c.v's and mounts. The repair bill could be considerable. If you are lucky they will isolate it down to exactly what is causing your problem....but just be aware! Good Luck.
