Just replace the fan clutch as other members have suggested, before you go looking for more "exotic" solutions.

My most recent cooling system drama was the thermofan clutch going soft. Fan had literally zero resistance to spinning when the engine was shut .....

This used to happen to me if I stopped a few minutes after a 115km/h freeway run on a 40 deg day. I put it down to residual heat in the iron block reaching the coolant with no circulation.

Idling around in town traffic for 10 minutes or so stopped it.
