The little tags that the screws go through in the surround have a habit of breaking. You will need to another vent assembly and replace it. Easy enough to do. Take the fascia off and undo the screws that hold it in.

Is it just the vents themselves or the surround that moves?

Once you take the fascia off you will see what I mean. There are 3 screws (I think) that hold it. Sometimes the the bits where the screws actually go into in the back of fascia break off. It's only two screws above the speedo and some clips that hold the lot in. You will have to undo the light switch first though by rotating the outer surround.
