Could somebody please help me, I have a 97 vs berlina. While I am driving and then stop and the car is still in gear,it starts to idle eracticaly like it wants to stall.the when i accelerate it is ok. it chews through a bit of fuel and also when i start the car it revs to 2000 and then drops back down to idle. I have replaced fuel pump, had injectors cleaned, and been reguarly serviced, ie plugs leads filters etc

    P.S Will appreciate any help.:bang:

    hey fsp,

    welcome to the forum :p

sounds like you have a vacuum hose loose, i know on mine, the hose that connects to the bottom of the throttle keeps coming off, i've now got some tube and hose clamps to replace it, but there isnt enough time in the day.. i know exactly when the hose has come off, coz it idles like a pig.. check all vacuum hoses, maybe spray some crc along them, if the revs increase, u have a crack in the hose and its just sucked in some crc..

let us know how u go

Check codes...I would say the IAC valve needs cleaning and setting...maybe give the TB a bit of of a clean...yeah sure could be a number of things vacc leak,o2 sensor,TPS...also check that the throttle body isn't sticking...
