Is your speedo graduated in 5 or 2 km increments? If it is in 2km increments it is an ex police unit and has a globe above the actual cluster - look above the speedo and you will see an oval hole. The cluster needs to be removed either way. The odometer is a cheap $7.50 fix for the gear if you pull the gauge cluster out yourself and repair - pretty easy as did mine a month ago.
