    Got a pinging when accelerating could this be timing can I check it myself

    Won't be timing as it's not adjustable....could be exhaust manifold gasket leaking or cracked which sounds like pinging.

    Running lean will make an engine ping. Could be dirty injectors or a blocked fuel filter.
