hi got a VS commodore V6 with 157000k,s

have noticed that there is a vibration like its missing slightly when im accelerating lightly from 60-65ish but if i put foot down it kicks back and away i go without any vibration

it vibrates through the steering accelerator pedal and through the seat (getting worse through the seat) almost like a shake of the car but not a massive shake like a coil is dead (had that before)

now i no itt could be a number of this starting with the wheel balance but they got balanced up properly aswell as a wheel alignment, leads and plugs replaced, i am thinking it could be a engine mount or trans mount butt they were al replaced about 60 000k's ago (could be them though), uni or center bearing? as it comes through the seat? i have got bad fuel economy compared to what i have previously goten (used to get 7.6 per hundred on highway now getting round 10ish) im thinking its my injectors causing this though as i replaced them with ebay reco ones for good measurs and since then i have gotten worse fuel economy (gonna put originals back in) but this vibation has only started recently (injectors were dun a fare few months ago) it could also be a coil breaking down slightly?

im yet to sus it out as i have been busy but what should i look out for ? uni's center bearing, mounts,???

    thanks

I'd go with a dud coil first.

Based on my experience with a failing/failed transmission it sounds exactly like what was happening when mine was failing (although it would do it around 80Kms/h)

What is the colour of your trans fluid? When was it last serviced?

A good test would be to put it in "PWR" (the power/econo button next to the auto shifter) and see if you have the same issue. I believe (someone correct me if i am wrong) this will stop the torque converter from locking.

I noticed horrid fuel economy while my failing trans was in the car, and what you have described sounds very similar. right down the the strange vibrations through the car.

    :beer chug:
The power button only make the gear change(s) happen at higher revs....simply hangs on a bit longer in each gear. TQ will still lock-up.:beer chug:

Haha, there you go, i stand corrected! Thanks Hako.

Still, check out your trans fluid and let us know what condition it is in.

thanks all, trans fluid is all good, changes gears all sweet, changed the coils and dfi with a spare and it still vibrates like its missing, could be a plug that got damaged but will suss that out otherwise everything is changed coils, dfi, plugs (ngk), leads (eagle) injectors, etc, still havnt got to checking engin mounts and gearbox mounts and tail shaft just yet, also could the diff do it? its not adjusted properly as in when i chaged teh centers over i didnt space it properly causing back lash (solid axel)

    thanks

My VS had vibrations coming from around the mid to rear of the car when accelerating lightly from 50 km/h or over, I replaced the engine mounts and gearbox mount, I also replaced all the rear suspension bushes - the lower and upper control arm bushes and panhard rod bushes etc, and there was no vibration at all, completely gone. That was a couple of years back, Ive just found that the engine mounts have collapsed again, so Ive gotta change them both and the gearbox mount. I had a pretty bad transmission leak from the trans cooler pipes near the radiator, it has been slowly leaking for a few months and the fluid has blown back all over the engine mounts, and once the rubber mounts become covered and soaked in engine oil or auto trans fluid, they quickly perish and then fail, so any engine oil or trans fluid leaks you have will effect how long they last, so any leaks should be fixed first before replacing the mounts.
