g'day all i have the stingy 59L VS sedan tank, is it a simple matter (bolt off/on) to swap it over to the larger capacity one fitted to wagons, statesmans etc ?

I would assume the hardest bit would be the fuel pump as its in tank, does it connect up the same way?

    thanks.

im pretty sure the tank is a swapover but someone else needs to comfirm this, one other thing you need to do is flick the switch on the back of the cluster so your fuel gauge reads the bigger tank.

It isn't just pull one out put one in, you need the filler, breathers and outer fuel pump and straps are different.

    IRS/Live Axle!

Step number one is to realise that the tanks differ between those vehicles fitted with IRS and those with the live axle.

To effect the change, you will need a correct tank for your suspension. Best way is to buy a complete tank with fuel pump + fuel sender unit + plumbing + straps + stone guard (as tank hangs a little lower. If you source from a wrecker, should be able to get all components in one go.

Thanks guys, yeah i assumed the straps/filler etc would be different, hence trying to source a complete setup... and its IRS too so a bit more difficult ah well. Just after a longer range thats all lol.
