Vs detroit locker in to vl ??

Hi all just picked up a vs diff with a detroit locker im trying to decide weather to put it straight in .im very awere that the vs diff it wider only reason for putting it in is the vl has a drum diff an want to run disk

Why not just fit a VL diff with rear disks?

Couse vl rear end down my way are hard to come by an if i did find one thay want an arm an both legs lol plus the one iv picked is out of a v8
