VS Diff

quick question,

Ute has the IRS under the radio on the console, but its a fixed diff

So I am unsure if the diff is original .. or from another VS etc...

How could I tell if its commodore or something else ... what else could have been put in there?

Doesn't look like its been shortened etc

Fairly sure all utes came with a live axle (solid diff) until the VU models. Somebody may have either changed the dash or just the dash tag with IRS/ABS on it.

Radio console came from another car. Wagons and utes didn't go to IRS until VT/VU.
